Chuggin' Along

After 3 weeks of "Spain happenings" followed by an out-of-town weekend at a very lovely wedding, we are settling into our little(?) family's normal routine. Mom's recent challenge to women on a Sunday morning to be courageous gave me the needed motivation to clean out the markings left on our home by 3 weeks of neglect: mold, dead bugs and the like. It also gave me the needed push to unpack twice in a mere 2 days.

(I really dislike unpacking.)

Speaking of unpacking, the airline called Daniel yesterday to tell him that his luggage had been located in the London Heathrow airport. It's still not remotely close to us, but at least we know it's not lost forever. I'm looking forward to the FedEx guy showing up on our doorstep with that much-needed black bag as I'm already getting tired of washing and re-washing the same few items of clothing currently in Daniel's possession.

Daniel is re-acquainting himself with his home office, his computer, his e-mail, and the church building. I am enjoying planning menus and making meals for the first time since mid-March. The kids are re-learning how to play with one another without the help and imagination of a very special eight-year-old uncle.

To end this simple and shallow update, I leave you with a picture and an announcement hot off the press:

  1. I love it!  The much-anticipated reunion of the two "royalty"...  How good it must feel to be home again (even with the re-settling that must take place) and to be all together again as well.  Relax and enjoy it.

  13. Ahhh!! I don't think we'll see each other at all:( What are the chances???? Well, that just means I'll will definetly have to make a trip up to the North Country this fall. Maybe November. With our vacation planned for October, and your new little girl and Em's wedding I think November might be the best depending on your travel plans for Thanksgiving and Pgh in late fall.

  14. Hi Brietta,
Just wanted you to know that my connection group has been praying for you, your family and this new little one.  So nice to see you growing!!!  However, my REAL reason for writing is to tell you that I was so excited to read that you were enjoying Wimbledon.  Tennis players really appreciate those who enjoy the sport as well.  I was disappointed that Roddick didn't get to the semi's but quite honestly he doesn't have what it takes to beat Federer.  I was happy to see him win because he is such a gracious winner (and loser as well), incredibly talented, and it was nice to see him tie the current record of 5 consecutive Wimbledon titles.  On the other hand - yeah for Venus Williams (not always so gracious, but go USA).  The William's sisters are also incredibly talented!!!  Princess Aurora and Luke are adorable!!!!

  15. i think it would be lovely to drop by your yellow little house tonight.  i could give your children a squeeze, laugh at your husband's corny yet very funny jokes, and talk to you about anything and everything.  yeah, that'd be lovely.  would it work for you?
