Picture-time!

This is the driveway that existed upon our purchase of the house. It didn't have a retaining wall to speak of, but simply "sloped" down toward the yard.
(Our front porch and door are to the left.)

This picture was taken last Friday; by Saturday afternoon the railroad ties were all laid, 1 ton of driveway rocks were poured, and the back rails for the fence were built.

A picture of the wall from our yard. It is 5' high and 4' underground at the back, and at least 2' underground at the top.

The architect, contractor and labor--all rolled into one hard-working man!

And now, some pictures of our cute kids!
At the beach:

In Mom and Dad's bed:

(If you're wondering why our kids are lying down in a lot of pictures, it's because it's the easiest way to get all 3 in one photo without anyone getting injured!)

  3. sorry to hear about the lice... we had fleas.  i empathize with you on all the WASHING.  laundry used to be my favorite household chore.  hmmmm...
and sorry to hear your hubby has gone... i empathize on that one too.  we are thrilled to have jimmy home again with use after three weeks away.  the kids will keep you busy... the hardest time is after they've gone to bed, i imagine.

  6. Thanks, I really did want to know all that stuff!  Matthew gets dandruff, and I always thought as long as it didn't move that's what it was!!  Sesame seeds are pretty big too, yuck.  Now I know, hope we never get it!!  Daniel did a great job.  I remember Doug doing our driveway and fence behind it.  That digging takes a lot out of them.  A few friends came over and helped with the concrete and when the cement truck came and the driver asked what their professions were, they were all photographers(!) he felt sorry and helped some, even though he was in "the union" and shouldn't have.  It was funny when he asked, you should have seen him.  Doug just learned what to do by reading.   He's cool that way.
