On a regular basis I "lose" my son.

Gabriel, come sit on my lap; I want to snuggle with you.

Mom, big James doesn't snuggle with his mama.

Oh, sorry. I forgot; you're James. And 3-going-on-25.

  1. Hi Brietta1
I meant to send Daniel a birthday card and the time came and went. Please let him know I have been thinking of him often and praying especially for his trip.
I realized this morning as I thought again of sending a belated greeting, that I have no contact info for you guys at this point but your xanga site which Phyllis told me is actually one of the fastest ways to get a message to you.
I hope the time with Daniel away goes well and that his trip is very fruitful.
    Love you all,
    Meredith

  2. Who on earth is Big James? Would you three like to come over sometime while Daniel is away? I have VERY fond memories of Heidi L. coming over with her (then) three girls while Derek was away. She always loved the change of scenery (not to mention going home with lunch or dinner for the next day!) I would love it. No pressure, just an offer...

  3. Oh, you poor darling. Hard to believe that someday you'll look back on this night, smile, chuckle, and shake your head, wishing they were all "little again". But, since that is way off in the distance, I'll pray for you. You can do it! The offer still stands. And if we can include Abby that would be great, too. Lots of little ones and only three of us...won't that be fun?

  5. Matthew never had imaginary friends, he WAS someone, like that.  He watched Star Trek the Next Generation when he was that age with his dad.  He was Reiker (Picard's 2nd in command)for a time, then he was Worf (sp?), the Klingon.  I had made him a Star Trek uniform and he had a wig etc to be Worf one year.  I ended up giving it to day care and Donna said the kids loved playing dress up, I gave her a couple others too.  I had put him in pre-school when he was 3, he loved the first half year, then when he was 4 he had a new teacher and she yelled all the time, so we switched to a "Christian" pre-school, but it wasn't much better.  That's when we decided to homeschool.  When he had a bad day I knew it because he was "X" that day and his papers would have that "name" instead of Matthew.  Kids are cool how they deal with things.  Who is big James by the way?  I'd like to know too.  Did Daniel do anything like that when he was little?
