Buttoned Up
Our house project has officially been "buttoned up." What that means is that the exterior work is basically done: roof repaired (where there had been leaking), new walls built, windows and doors installed, and clapboard up. There will be a bit of a break in the progress now since the interior work won't begin in earnest until mid-October, leading up to an early November kitchen cupboard installation.
The goal is to have all the exterior painting done (walls yellow, trim white, and doors red like the rest of the house) and the shutters up by then. We're also planning on getting the electrical and heating run in the next 5-6 weeks. It sounds simple enough, right?

It looks soooo good! And I think "buttoned up" is an especially appropriate term for your adorable little house. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing job. I'm so glad I'll get to see it in person. How exciting!
ReplyDeletelooks great! (if I may say so myself...) : )
ReplyDeleteBrietta, it's looking wonderful and it looks so much bigger than I remember from the outside! What fun and excitement for your family!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't progress just make you smile? It looks fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteYou're gearing down and we're gearing up! Just met with a kitchen install guy last night to discuss plans to re-do the kitchen. Looks like we're going to do it. It may push our move in date back a bit but will be well worth it. Adding a dishwasher! Woo-hoo! We should definitely be moved in by the time you visit. We can finally have everyone over and not be cramped for space! Can't wait to see more progress.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! I love progress!
ReplyDeleteOoo, lookin' good.
ReplyDeleteIt looks so good! Gabe actually drove by yesterday (he goes to cell group in Madrid somewhere) and came home to say that you guys looked like you were doing a little renovation (he doesn't keep up in xanga land!) and I said, well yeah! He also thought he saw you outside cutting some boards!? I said, maybe?
ReplyDelete@ReneeOckrin - Ha ha! That was definitely not me. I would probably hurt myself trying to operate any of the tools being used around here!My guess is that he saw Renee Zehr. She's amazing!
