Growing every day

Me, that is, not the children or the plants (they're growing, it's true, but not as fast as I'm growing).

Last week, I officially Popped (if you've ever been pregnant, you know what I'm talking about); and, overnight, strangers stopped hesitating to ask whether or not I'm pregnant and started asking when I'm due.

And today, in honor of pulling my first pair of maternity pants out of storage, I took my second pregnancy photo. This is Baby and me at about 18-1/2 weeks (you like my wet hair?):

And, um, is it just me, or am I carrying really high this pregnancy??? (Maybe this explains the inordinately early heartburn I started dealing with around 14 weeks?)

  1. You are carrying high.... that is exactly how I carried with Eli.... heartburn like crazy!! You look so cute!

  2. I thought one time that you looked really 'high' as opposed to me which seemed really low. Love the wet hair look. I pull that one often!

  3. Okay not sure what just happened. I think I signed in with a username I use for other things and created a new account! That was me (Renee) by the way.

  5. @danicasinclair - The pack n' play is leftover from the weekend; Aubrey slept in our room again while Daniel's parents were staying here. (We moved her crib up to the guest room-- which is now Aubrey's room-- a while ago.  We won't do full rearrangements of the bedrooms until the baby's born and we know whether boys or girls need the bigger space.)

  6. I, too, saw this picture and thought you looked like you were carrying the baby high (before I read your comment about it).  For your sake, I hope it's not the case through the whole pregnancy....I always get heartburn at the end and I sympathize with how not-fun it is.  Cute picture, though...you make a great pregnant lady :).

  8. Funny, when I saw you this past weekend I thought, "she hardly looks pregnant". How did I miss that belly?

  9. @mom2mkei_2 - I was wearing a rather slimming black top on Sunday; this outfit I'm wearing today does nothing to hide the belly.

  10. Danica- you are VERY observant! Do you look at background details in all photos or just sissy's? Maybe you should do some side work as some type of investigator!
I am the least observant person you'll ever meet...
Brietta- good for you that you got a shower!

  11. @Lisa: Yeah, probably I only notice those kinds of details when I'm looking at family's pictures. You know. Places I'm so homesick for that I eat up every last detail.  :)

  12. What a cute round ball of a belly!!! You look great! I personally love when everyone can finally tell I'm pregnant. I'd much rather be in that stage than the "am I just getting thick around the middle" stage! Of course for me it's much closer to 9-10 weeks:)

  13. @michelleross - I agree! I hate looking out of shape vs. pregnant!  That said, when I put those pants on yesterday, all I could think was that somebody somewhere needs to design more flattering maternity pants!  They're always saggy in all the wrong places, especially earlier on!

  14. I was just chuckling with a friend of mine last night about how I look as pregnant as I did when I was 7mos pregnant with Cassie.  She didn't believe me and said, "Well, people ask me if I'm pregnant when I'm not." And I replied, "Seriously, people just ask me when I'm DUE, when I'm not even pregnant!"
