Uninspired

I haven't been feeling too inspired to write of late.

If you haven't noticed.

I'm feeling mixtures of a whole lot of things, and I can't tell where one thought ends and the next begins. For example:

I'm liking the summer. I'm at a loss as a mom. I'm tired from early mornings with my littlest man. I'm enjoying spending the last couple hours of each day with bits and pieces of my family. I'm alternately starving and sick with indigestion. I'm hot beyond belief one day and freezing a couple days later. I'm missing Daniel. I'm saying good-bye to a sister. I'm making phone calls I don't want to make. I'm experimenting with ways to get rid of grass-stains (unsuccessfully, I should add). I'm wondering how days slip by so quickly. I'm waiting for something. I'm smelling a single fragrant rose. I'm reading through the Gospels. I'm grateful for colors. I'm considering our government and potential leaders. I'm wondering what I used to think, talk, and pray about before I had children. I'm looking forward to having people over again (you know, now that I'm up and about more). I'm falling behind in my e-mail communications. I'm thinking it's been a long time since I had coffee with friends. I'm baffled by how hard simple things can be. I'm leaning on the grace of God.

  1. I've found that hairspray takes the grass stains out...:)

  2. "I'm at a loss as a mom."

I'm right there too. It probably never gets easier but hopefully I'll get better.

  3. I've found OxyClean spray to be wonderful. (I do not like the powder.) If you have a really stubborn grass stain, spray the stain, let it sit for a minute and then take an old toothbrush to the stain, spray lightly and stick it in the wash. I hope that helps! (Vinegar, added to the wash water, is also a great stain fighter. I would still recommend using stain treater beforehand, but just 1/2 a cup of vinegar for a standard load usually works great. I found this especially handy, when washing cloth diapers!)

  4. "Greased Lightning" is great on grass stains.  Just spray it and let it soak in hot water till the water gets cold again....oxyclean powder is good for a follow up when it's washed in the machine, just to make sure.  That's the easiest thing I've found and it always works.  The "Greased Lightning" is great for fruit stains too, and blood....after you squirt it, then you soak in COLD water and they always come out too.  Dollar General and Big Lots carry it cheapest I think.  I've seen it lots of other places too, but I think they have the best price.

  5. Oxyclean powder is good to soak too....it's one of the only things I've found that work on most things....but it doesn't work in cold water....they say you can just dissolve it first but I never tried that.  When I had really nasty stains in my old tub, I would put it on straight and just spray it with a little water and it worked there....I see it mostly as a soaking tool...Still haven't found the best thing for spagetti sauce type stains.  I haven't tried their spray.

  6. I have also had luck with the oxyclean spray on grass stains...I've never tried the powder. Hydrogen peroxide might work, too. I've never tried it on grass, but I think it is similar to the oxyclean in how it works. I usually treat the stain, then scrub it with soap and water after a few minutes. I can relate to your temperature troubles, too. Lately, I have been either warm beyond relief or freezing...and usually Tim is feeling the opposite. Personally, I much prefer being cold, although that isn't happening as much as I would like :).
