Three of my RSS feeds came in last night boasting pictures and tales of
McDonald's. I don't know if they really are making a comeback or not, but for the first time in about 15 years, I'm actually interested in stepping foot inside one of these classic American, loved-by-children-everywhere franchises, if for no other reason than to see what's on their menu these days and why people still go there.
I LOVE McDonalds!!! I could eat there like 3x week!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the salads at McDonald's. They are really good and you can get grilled chicken with them rather than fried. The kids food is still standard fare unless you have wonder kids. Mine still always choose the fries rather than apple slices and "Pepsi" (meaning Hi-C with a shot of Sprite) rather than water or milk. I just wish we had one with a Playland around here.
ReplyDeleteThough we don't stop by there often, when traveling McDonald's is often a choice. I get there salads as well...with the grilled Chicken. Its better then the g rease and french fries which I never really cared for.
ReplyDeleteWe watched "Super Size Me" a while back and are not big fans of McD's. However, I now have a daughter working at the local franchise so we tend to pop in once in a while and visit her. No matter how bad they are for me, I indulge in a small fry every once in a while.
ReplyDeletei haven't been there since the spain trip last summer, but i think, for the most part, their menu is the same with some additions. i have tried a couple salads and they were pretty good...it was a while ago, but if i remember correctly there was, unfortunately, a good deal of iceberg lettuce.
ReplyDeletei'm not sure i would recommend trying to go there, but if you find yourself there, it really isn't that bad.

I have a weakness for burgers and fries, but even so, McDonald's isn't at the top of my list. We do tend to get breakfast there quite often, though...I really like the bacon, egg and cheese biscuit, but it is hard to ignore how much fat must be in them. They also have pancakes for a good price, so we know there is always something the kids will eat at breakfast time. Personally, I have a hard time eating the "grilled" chicken items at most fast food places...they always taste boiled and rubbery to me...but I am sure it is better than the deep-fried alternative.
ReplyDeleteTrust me it is not as good as it may seem. Still greasier than ever and after eating there you probably will not feel like you ate a wholesome meal. But for something quick and easy, it works I suppose.

I don't like McDonald's. Whenever we've gone there, it always makes me sick (burgers, fires, salads, snack wraps...you name it!) Lucas likes it, though, so we have gone, when we wouldn't otherwise be able to get home in time for the next meal.
ReplyDeleteI'm not much for fast food but I can always go for a Veggie Delight sub, from Subway. :)
I had a very good grilled chicken salad at McDonald's a few months ago. They also serve a yogurt and fruit snack. We stopped there at the Angola rest stop on a trip home from NY. I was happy with getting the food and eating in the car since the smell of their fries makes my stomach feel shaky.
