A Favorite Quote

The fact that I am a woman does not make me a different kind of Christian, but the fact that I am a Christian does me a different kind of woman. For I have accepted God's idea of me, and my whole life is an offering back to Him of all that I am and all that He wants me to be.

Let Me Be A Woman, by Elisabeth Elliot

  1. What a great quote. I've always enjoyed Elisabeth Elliot.
To answer your question from the other day, I now see Allison once a month. In the beginning I saw her twice in January. Also, my ticker thing is quite tricky. According to other websites and pregnancy wheels my due date falls between the 5th and 7th. Allison says the 6th, and so I plugged that into my ticker, but it seems to be off a day or two. So I guess I could just say I'm heading into my 17th week, a little unsure whether the actual start of my 17th week falls between today and Wednesday! Hopefully an upcoming ultrasound will clear things up.
    How are you feeling?

  2. I hope you your listening to the doctors and getting plenty of rest. I'm sorry you didn't make it to Pgh this week, but there will be other chances.

  5. I love this quote too.  For a long time I had a hard time with the fact that being  a Christian made me a different kind of woman (and person in general).  I never liked being different so it was a challenge to actually desire that in my life.  Today?  I embrace it!
I see others asking to... How are you feeling?  Are you still having the nausea and vomiting?  If not, when did it stop for you?  (Yes, I am grabbing onto tiny bits of hope that it will end before 12 weeks for me)

  6. I have never read that book but I plan to. I do enjoy Elisabeth Elliot.
I had the photos done at SEARS back in late December. I had a good coupon which allowed us to skip the $15 sitting fee and I believe we only had to buy 6 portrait pages at the regular price ($5.99) before we started getting them at $2.99 page. It worked out well, especailly for family members who are hostile toward me for never getting pictures out- they were able to look over the various poses and order whatever they wanted for only $2.99/sheet. And you know what comes on a sheet- either an 8X10, 2- 5X7's, 4- 4X6's, 8- wallets, and on and on. I took both Grandma's for back-up since Emily and Bradley were still wiggin' out around strangers at that point. Am I a sissy, or what? It went well. I bribed them all with ring-pops and Emily was the only one who didn't get hers. If you might notice- she is pretty uncooperative and sad in most of the shots. Poor Emmy.
